The Rangers goalkeeper had fallen down the pecking order since Steven Gerrard’s arrival at Ibrox.

Rangers goalkeeper Jak Alnwick will spend the next five months away from Ibrox.
Alnwick’s loan to Scunthorpe United was confirmed on Thursday, after the man he replaced at Rangers, Matt Gilks, was ruled out for the Irons until January.
The 25-year-old has impressed for Rangers when called upon, but found opportunities largely limited at Ibrox, due to the presence of Wes Foderingham and Allan McGregor – the latter of whom returned to the club after six years away this summer.
For part of the close-season it looked like Foderingham could be the one heading out of Glasgow, but the 27-year-old insead looks to have cemented his place as Steven Gerrard’s number two.

That, however, is not how some Rangers fans would arrange the order.
This is what they’re saying on Twitter…
Another former Rangers player – and manager – Stuart McCall took charge of Scunthorpe earlier this week.
McCall never worked with Alnwick at Rangers, however.
