The Rangers midfielder has been overlooked by Steven Gerrard at Ibrox this season.

Rangers fans are reacting after one of their senior players was dropped to the Ibrox Colts team on Wednesday.
Greg Docherty joined Eros Grezda in a Rangers side, led by Graeme Murty, that beat Ballymena 1-0 in the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup third round.
Docherty excelled while on loan to Shrewsbury Town last term, scoring or making 21 goals in 50 appearances, and continued his fine form back at Rangers this summer.
But despite his pre-season and Europa League qualifying showings, the lifelong Rangers fan has yet to appear in a Premiership fixture and has seen his competition increase through the loan capture of Andy King from Leicester City.

And this is what those of a Rangers persuasion are saying about the latest twist in Docherty’s Rangers career, on Twitter…
But at least he did well, according to some…
Rangers won the tie in Northern Ireland 1-0 courtesy of Serge Atakayi’s late strike, assisted by Jamie Barjonas.
Of those who featured for the Colts on Wednesday, Docherty, Grezda, Atakayi, Barjonas and Dapo Mebude have all experienced first-team football at Rangers.
