Glasgow Rangers defender James Tavernier could sign a new Gers contract, Ibrox manager Graeme Murty recently suggested.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty recently revealed that talks over a new contract with Ibrox defender James Tavernier are going on.
Murty told The Scottish Sun that Tavernier loves playing for Rangers, and that the Gers are in discussion with the former Newcastle United defender over a new deal.
The 26-year-old right-back joined the Scottish club from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £200,000, and is out of contract in the summer of 2019, according to The Scottish Sun.

Tavernier is one of the best right-backs in the Scottish Premiership and played well in Rangers’ 6-1 hammering of Ayr United away from home in the fifth round of the Scottish Cup at the weekend.
Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to recent comments from Murty about Tavernier and have urged the Gers to hand the right-back a new contract, while raving about him on the social networking site.
