Rangers fans are reacting after a former Celtic player called for ‘neutral’ referees in Scottish football.

Tom Boyd’s comments, which were spoken at a Premier Sports event and published by the Daily Record, followed Rangers’ 4-0 win against St Mirren on Saturday, in which Steven Gerrard’s side were awarded four penalties.

The Ibrox result moved Rangers two points clear of third place, although they remain six points adrift of Premiership leaders Celtic.

But despite the cushion, Boyd, who works as an ambassador for Celtic, insisted that the Bhoys have had a rough ride from the refs this season.

And those of a Rangers persuasion have had plenty to say on the matter…

According to MSN Sport, Celtic have received the fewest amount of yellow cards of any Premiership club this season (22), along with the fourth-fewest number of reds (2), and have conceded the second fewest amount of fouls (243).

Meanwhile, no Scottish top-flight club have suffered more sendings off than Rangers this campaign (5).

Does Boyd have a point about referees?
