Fans of Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have acknowledged Daniel Candeias’s performances this season.

If there is an unsung hero in Rangers’ first XI at the moment, it has to be Daniel Candeias.
The Gers have been outstanding this calendar year and so many of Candeias’s team-mates at Ibrox have received praise by the barrel – and rightly so in every case.
Josh Windass, Jamie Murphy, Jason Cummings and Alfredo Morelos have all snatched the headlines for Graeme Murty’s side since 2018, but the Portuguese winger got in on the act on Sunday.
The 29-year-old scored the goal which gave Rangers a 2-1 lead over Celtic at Ibrox, to make it six goals and 10 assists in his first season in Glasgow following an £800,000 switch from Benfica last summer.

And those on the blue half of the Old Firm divide saw fit to acknowledge his performances this season after being reminded of his statistics.
Claiming that Candeias has been a revelation might be too strong-a-word, but he has been in comparison to some of Pedro Caixinha’s other signings.
The Portuguese manager really did sign some awful players last summer – most notably Carlos Pena, for £2.7 million, or the forgotten man Dalcio – but Candeias and Morelos have certainly been the best of a horrendous bunch it must be said.
