Outspoken agent Carol Ksonto has laughed off Rangers’ renewed interest in Skrtel.

Martin Skrtel’s agent Carol Ksonto has once again commented on Rangers’ renewed interest in the Fenerbahce defender by claiming the Gers could not afford half of Skrtel’s wages – and Celtic fans have reacted on Twitter.
The link between Rangers and Skrtel restarted last week, with Turkish outlet CNN claiming that Rangers have not given up on trying to lure Skrtel to Ibrox, after failing to do so in the summer.
Skrtel has a contract at Fenerbahce until the end of the season, but the Daily Record claim the former Liverpool defender is said to be earning a whopping £60,000 a week with Fener.
Following reports of renewed interest in Skrtel, Skrtel’s agent Csonto has chosen to comment on the link once again by stating that Rangers would struggle to afford half of the Slovakia international’s hefty pay packet.
He told the Record: “Financially there is no chance of Martin going to Rangers. He couldn’t get half of his wages in Glasgow. It would be more like a third.”

Rangers boast plenty of options at centre-back, after bringing in Nikola Katic, Connor Goldson, Joe Worrall and Gareth McAuley to Ibrox in the summer. But Skrtel remains one of Gerrard’s first targets, after playing together at Liverpool.
Celtic fans have reacted hilariously to Csonto’s comments on Skrtel’s wages, with one fan even hoping that Rangers do sign Skrtel as he will be “34 in December”.
