Glasgow Rangers are gearing up for a big season as they bid to bring silverware – ideally title number 55 – back to Ibrox under Steven Gerrard’s watch.

A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to welcome Nikola Katic’s arrival at the Ibrox club’s training camp in Portugal.
The Croatian defender missed the Gers’ final Scottish Premiership game of the 2018-19 campaign against Kilmarnock in May as Ibrox boss Steven Gerrard gave him an early break.
Katic was on international duty with the Croatia Under-21s at the European Championships but the draw with England on Monday evening marked the end of his campaign.
The 22-year-old played all three matches for his country at the Euros but losses to Romania and France before the draw with the Young Lions saw them finish bottom of Group C.
Croatia’s loss was Rangers’ gain as Katic flew out to the Algarve on Wednesday to meet up with his club, Gerrard getting his charges ready for a busy campaign.
The Light Blues welcomed their young star back – strapped-up nose and all – with a six-word tweet:
Which prompted a positive reaction from many Bears fans, who took to the social media platform to have their say:
Katic made 30 appearances for Rangers in all competitions last term, his first season at Ibrox following his move from Croatian club Slaven Belupo in the summer of 2018 (Transfermarkt).
