The Rangers striker is said to want talks about an improved deal with Graeme Murty’s side.
According to the Daily Mail, Alfredo Morelos is demanding a pay rise after Rangers rejected three ‘life-changing’ offers for the Ibrox striker from Beijing Renhe.
The report claims Morelos earns less than £7,000 a week at Rangers, making him one of the lowest paid players in Graeme Murty’s first team.
And according to the Scottish Sun, the 21-year-old would be able to almost quadruple his current wage in Beijing – and it remains to be seen whether or not Rangers could match such an offer.
The Daily Mail report that talks over an improved contract were always planned between Mark Allen, the Rangers director of football, and the agents of Morelos – who cost the Gers around £1 million last summer.
They add, however, that the Colombian’s representatives now want to accelerate those talks to next week, in the wake of Beijing’s offers – said to be worth in the region of £8 million.
China’s transfer window remains open until 28th February, leaving Rangers at risk of losing Morelos if those allegedly urgent discussions do not go to plan.
