Glasgow Rangers youngster Billy Gilmour is on his way out of Ibrox this summer.

Rangers fans have been left divided following the news that the Gers confirmed on their official website that 15-year-old prospect Billy Gilmour has completed a deal that will see him join Chelsea in the summer.
Gilmour appears to be one of the brightest prospects in the Scottish game currently, and is arguably the most gifted player coming through the ranks at Ibrox at the moment.
Unsurprisingly therefore, the Light Blues have faced a battle for his signature from the Premier League leaders. And unfortunately for Rangers supporters, the club have now confirmed on their official website that they have lost out to the Blues.
The news has received a mixed response on social media. A large portion of the Gers fans have wished the teenager well for his switch to Stamford Bridge, seemingly optimistic that he has the talent to make a success of his time as part of Antonio Conte’s squad.

However, there are some who are criticising Gilmour’s decision, and actually feel that he has made a big mistake choosing to join Chelsea.
With Rangers going through a difficult patch in their history, it may not have been out of the question to suggest that Pedro Caixinha would have been willing to give him a chance in the first-team in the near future.

Meanwhile, Chelsea seem to have one of the most competitive youth systems in Europe with over 30 players out on loan across the continent, many of whom will surely struggle to get near the first-team in the future.
And with former Celtic starlet Islam Feruz’s career failing to hit any particular heights since he left to join Chelsea in 2014, Gilmour appears to be up against it trying to make the grade – though some Gers fans are backing him to succeed.
Here is the best of the reaction, with even one Celtic fan expressing some disappointment…
