Rangers beat St Johnstone 5-1 at Ibrox this afternoon.

Rangers picked up another league win under Steven Gerrard as they dismantled St Johnstone in a 5-1 win at Ibrox this afternoon.
The Gers were in good spirits after a superb 2-2 draw at Villarreal on Thursday night, whilst their last league game saw them thrash Dundee 4-0 last weekend.
Gerrard was looking for a similarly convincing win against St Johnstone, and that’s exactly what he got in a dominant performance at Ibrox today.
James Tavernier opened the scoring with a fine free kick before Alfredo Morelos bagged a second, and Scott Arfield added a third when Ryan Kent hit the crossbar.
Kyle Lafferty tucked home a fourth, and whilst Blair Alston pulled one back from the penalty spot, Daniel Candeias cut inside to make it 5-1 in the late stages of the game.
Rangers have now jumped above Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table, and sit second as they continue to thrive under new manager Gerrard this season.

A host of players impressed, but Gerrard witnessed loanee Ryan Kent turn in another fine performance, with the winger starting to find his feet following a slow start to his loan move from Liverpool.
Some suggested that it was his best performance yet, calling him ‘unreal’ and ‘immense, tipping him for a great future whilst wanting him snapped up on a permanent basis if possible at the end of his loan move.
