Rangers seemingly won’t be bringing Leonel Di Placido to Ibrox.

Rangers fans have been hearing rumours about James Tavernier’s future all summer, but they have been given a major sign that he’s staying put.
The Gers have seen Tavernier become a star at Ibrox since Mark Warburton signed him from Wigan Athletic in 2015, and his numbers last season were frankly ridiculous.
Tavernier hit a staggering 17 goals and 20 assists for Rangers last season, which few right backs would be able to replicate – and that has sparked interest.
A host of clubs have been linked with Tavernier this summer, but with the English transfer window over, a move now seems a little unlikely.
A move abroad would still be a possibility if anybody else registers an interest, but Steven Gerrard has seemingly ruled out all chance of that happening.
Gerrard told The Herald on Wednesday that links to Argentinian right back Leonel Di Placido are ‘total rubbish’, ruling out a possible move for the Lanus ace.

The Scottish Sun reported that Rangers wanted the 25-year-old as a potential replacement for Tavernier, but with Gerrard denying any interest, it seems that Gers aren’t thinking about a move for Di Placido any time soon.
That’s great news for Rangers fans, and a major sign that Tavernier will still be at Ibrox beyond the transfer deadline, which can only be a boost to their title hopes this season.
