Rangers take on Spartak Moscow at Ibrox on Thursday.

Rangers are back in Europa League action on Thursday night – and they have received some major news in the build-up to the game.
The Gers beat Hamilton Academical 4-1 on Sunday afternoon, and must now turn their attentions to the Europa League, with Russian giants Spartak Moscow heading to Ibrox.
Rangers have made a flying start to their group stage campaign, picking up a shock 2-2 draw at Villarreal before beating Rapid Vienna 3-1 at Ibrox earlier this month.
Now, it’s Spartak next up – and there is an incredible symmetry with the Rapid game, as Spartak today announced that they have sacked manager Massimo Carrera.
The Italian, who was on Antonio Conte’s staff at Juventus, won the league title and ultimately a domestic double in his first season in charge, but could only finish third last season.
This term, Spartak have only won five of their 11 league games, and a 3-2 home defeat to Arsenal Tula on Sunday proved to be Carrera’s final game in charge, as he was sacked earlier today.

Incredibly, Rapid Vienna did the exact same thing just before facing Rangers, sacking Goran Djuricin in favour of Dietmar Kuhbauer, and it remains to be seen whether Spartak make a swift appointment too, with Russia boss Stanislav Cherchesov mentioned.
Rangers fans have unsurprisingly been taking to Twitter to offer their reaction, with many excited about the prospect of Gerrard’s men picking up the win, with some feeling that anything other than a win would be a disappointment against a managerless, out of form side, and others joking about a trip to Baku for the Europa League final already.
