Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers were linked with the 25-year-old in the summer.

Kenny McLean came up against potential future employers Rangers today but the 25-year-old struggled to show what he would bring to the Gers side.
McLean played the 90 minutes at Pittodrie as Aberdeen went down 2-1 to Rangers – who also thumped the Dons 3-0 in midweek – and fans of the Ibrox club are wondering whether they really want him.

It has been suggested that the Glasgow giants, who had a £300,000 bid knocked back in the summer, would renew an interest in January after Dons boss Derek McInnes confirmed last month that McLean, whose contract expires in the summer, would not be signing an extension.
To avoid losing him for free, McInnes would have to sell next month, but Rangers fans aren’t entirely convinced that he would improve their side after a lacklustre showing against the 10-man Gers, who had Ryan Jack sent off within 11 minutes of the restart.

On this form, displacing the usually-solid Jack or Jason Holt looks a tall order for McLean and Rangers fans’ concerns is valid it seems.
