Rangers have confirmed the signing of veteran centre back Bruno Alves on a two-year deal from Cagliari.
The 35-year-old joins the Scottish Premiership side after just one season in Serie A, during which time he won many admirers as his side finished 11th in the table.

Alves arrives at Ibrox with plenty of experience, winning league titles in Portugal, Russia and Turkey with Porto, Zenit St Petersburg and Fenerbahce respectively.
The centre-back also has 89 caps for the Portuguese national team and was part of the squad that won Euro 2016 last summer.

Alves has some links with Gers already, having played against the Glasgow outfit in the 2005 Champions League for Porto and his agent is former Rangers midfielder Pedro Mendes.
And fans of the club certainly seem to be happy to welcome the experienced defender to the Scottish capital, taking to Twitter to share their delight.
