Rangers fans will celebrate their side lifting the Scottish Premiership trophy for the first time in a decade later this afternoon – but fans on Twitter were blown away last night after an incredible pyro display turned the Clyde red.
Fans set off socially distanced flares along the Clyde at Pacific Quay, with countless videos shared on social media as fans kicked off the party in style.
After wrapping up the Premiership two months ago, Gerrard’s side have had a long wait to finally get their hands on the trophy and, despite Ibrox remaining closed to fans, thousands are expected to congregate around the stadium and in the city centre today.
As well as the trophy presentation itself, Rangers could finish off the club’s first invincible season in the top flight in over 120 years by avoiding defeat against Aberdeen, while a there are also a number of defensive records Gerrard’s side could achieve with a clean sheet.
Seeing James Tavernier lift the Premiership trophy into the air at full time is what fans are waiting for though and the scenes last night suggest Glasgow is going to be a massive party today.
Fans on Twitter were clearly excited as pictures and videos emerged of the Rangers fans’ pyro display by the banks of the Clyde as they prepared for this afternoon’s celebrations.
