Josh Windass scored for the fifth time in eight Scottish Premiership games as Graeme Murty’s Rangers’ edged Hibernian 2-1 at Easter Road.

There was a real touch of class about the way Josh Windass opened the scoring for Rangers in their 2-1 smash and grab victory away at Hibernian on Tuesday.
Running onto a Daniel Candeias pass, Windass slotted a sublime first-time finish into the far corner – goal of real confidence and authority that rather sums up the vast improvements he has made to his game in recent months.

The 23-year-old has been the subject of intense criticism from some sections of the Rangers support since arriving at Ibrox from Accrington Stanley back in the summer of 2016.
But he is slowly and surely turning those doubters into fans after scoring six in all competitions this season and five in his last eight Scottish Premiership appearances. In fact, you could argue that Windass has improved more than any other Rangers player since Pedro Caixinha lost his job at the end of October.
Interim boss Graeme Murty seems to have found a way to coax the potential out of this enigmatic talent and, without his superb goal at Easter Road in midweek, Rangers might have been staring down the barrel of a draw or worse.

Alfredo Morelos netted the winner for Rangers in a game in which they hung on by their fingernails against a rampant Hibs attack. But Windass was undoubtedly the story on Tuesday night.
