Murty has watched his side suffer defeats to St. Johnstone on home soil before a brace from former Ibrox striker Kris Boyd saw Kilmarnock come from behind to beat Rangers 2-1 last time out.
After being given the job on a full-time basis until the end of the season, 43-year-old Murty has to prove his worth with a much-needed three points against Stephen Robinson’s out-of-form Well.
They have suffered five defeats in their last seven matches, drawing the other two against Dundee and Celtic but Rangers should remain wary after losing 2-0 to the Well in their last meeting – the Scottish League Cup semi-final.
Rangers fans have debated how Murty’s starting 11 should look, with changes expected in an attempt to end a run of two successive losses. Fans believe the 20-year-old should play, despite managing just 48 minutes of Scottish Premiership football this season.
One fan went as far as saying that former St. Mirren loanee Hardie should start because Eduardo Herrera “is drastic” as the Mexican fails to make an impact since his summer move from Pumas.
