Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers will have a surprise player on international duty next month.

The reaction to news about Borna Barisic has certainly divided Rangers fans on Twitter.
Barisic, who cost the Gers £2.2 million last summer [The Record], has been called up to Croatia’s squad for the international break in September.
The strange thing is, he hasn’t been playing for Rangers as of late.
Blues boss Steven Gerrard elected to play midfielder Andy Halliday ahead of him at left-back in the League Cup win over East Fife on Sunday.
The 26-year-old, taken off at half-time in a Europa League qualifier earlier this month, started the win over Kilmarnock on the first day of the season, but hasn’t been seen in a Rangers shirt since.
Some fans of the Ibrox side have mocked his call-up, while others have passionately defended him on the basis that he’s still one of their players.
Regardless of how Rangers fans are reacting to it, it is quite a surprising development; not because he’s a poor player, but because he hasn’t been a regular fixture under Gerrard.
Barisic had a poor first season in Glasgow, but this call-up is testament to the fact that he is a good player nonetheless and time will tell if he can turn things around.
