Rangers beat Hibernian 1-0 at Ibrox this afternoon.

Rangers made it five wins in a row this afternoon, as they beat Hibernian 1-0 at Ibrox thanks to another Jermain Defoe goal.
The Gers had been in fine form since losing 2-1 to Celtic, and were hoping to pick up another win ahead of their game with Celtic next week.
Steven Gerrard’s side weren’t quite at their fluid best today, but did enough to get the win as Defoe grabbed his eighth goal in 15 games for Rangers, converting Steven Davis’s pass in the first half.
Rangers were seeing out a fine win but shot themselves in the foot late on, as Allan McGregor bizarrely kicked out at Marc McNulty in the dying stages, picking up a red card.
Ross McCrorie went in goal given that Rangers had used all of their substitutes, and McGregor will now miss next week’s Old Firm derby after his bizarre rush of blood to the head.
Still, it’s another clean sheet for Rangers and just one goal conceded in the last five games, with Gerrard’s men finding defensive solidity late into the campaign.

The return of Nikola Katic has helped, with the Croatian impressing at the back whilst also contributing going forward, picking up a goal and even winning a couple of penalties recently.
Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to hail Katic, believing he’s far better than loanee Joe Worrall, praising him as a ‘baller’ and ‘dominant’, whilst one fan backed him to be worth £12million one day, after Gerrard paid just £2million for him last summer (Sky Sports).
