Rangers beat Hamilton Academical 5-0 at Ibrox on Sunday.

Rangers are now top of the Scottish Premiership after beating Hamilton Academical 5-0 at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.
The Gers saw Celtic lose 2-0 at Livingston earlier in the day, meaning they had a golden chance to overtake the Bhoys following their shock defeat.
Rangers wasted no time seizing their chance, as Greg Stewart’s sensational through ball found Jermain Defoe, and he chipped home the opener.
Connor Goldson headed the second before a superb Borna Barisic free kick made it 3-0, and Defoe then completed the rout by adding two more to complete his hat-trick.
Rangers now sit two points clear at the top of the table, and whilst it’s not a huge lead, they’ll be delighted to have gone above Celtic having lost the first Old Firm derby of the season last month.
Steven Gerrard decided to hand chances to summer signings Stewart and George Edmundson, and it’s fair to say they took advantage with a couple of fine displays.

Playmaker Stewart again showed his guile and creativity, with the largely unheralded summer signing from Birmingham City showing exactly why Gerrard brought him in.
Some Rangers fans have been hailing the Scot as a result, believing he has the killer passes that Rangers need against teams who sit in and try to frustrate the Gers.
Others admitted they’re being proven wrong by Stewart having criticised his arrival, and now think he’s exactly what Rangers need in the final third.
