Hutton came through the ranks at Glasgow Rangers before leaving Ibrox in 2008.

A number of Glasgow Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the report linking Light Blues old-boy Alan Hutton with a return to Ibrox this summer, as quoted in the Birmingham Mail.
The Penilee-born player, a right-back by trade, came through the ranks at Rangers and broke into the first team, playing for the Ibrox outfit up until 2008 when he joined Tottenham Hotspur.
Three years followed at White Hart Lane before Hutton was signed by former Gers boss Alex McLeish at Aston Villa in 2011, a club he has left just this summer, and at present he is a free agent.
The report quoted in the Birmingham Mail says the 34-year-old is being linked with a move back north of the border after departing Villa, a club he helped to promotion back to the Premier League.
Admittedly, Rangers already have James Tavernier, Matt Polster and Jon Flanagan who can play on the right of defence, and whether Steven Gerrard would actually have any use for Hutton in his squad is open for debate.
Judging by the reaction of some Bears on Twitter, there doesn’t seem to be much excitement about the prospect of the veteran returning to Ibrox:
