Glasgow Rangers fan and Dunfermline Athletic midfielder Paul Paton was in action against Neil Lennon’s Celtic at the weekend.

Paton was in action for Dunfermline Athletic against Celtic away from home at Celtic Park in the second round of the Scottish League Cup at the weekend.
The Scottish Championship club ran the defending Scottish Premiership champions close, as Neil Lennon’s side needed a goal in extra time to win the tie on Saturday afternoon.
Paton was blown away by the atmosphere at Celtic Park, and the 32-year-old Northern Ireland international defensive midfielder has said that he felt like singing Celtic songs on Saturday despite being a Rangers fan.
Paton told The Glasgow Evening Times: “I’m just proud of my own boys, proud of my team, it sets us up well with a lot of confidence for next week against Dundee United.
“To come here, big stadium, I’m a Rangers fan but I feel myself singing the Celtic songs because that my pals that are Celtic fans sing them. So, you get in the mood, you are enjoying yourself but when the game starts it’s totally different.
“The boys might never play here again, it might be my last time at Parkhead so I made sure I enjoyed it and I even asked Callum McGregor for his top which is a bit of a surprise.”
Proud
Celtic were expected to win against Dunfermline by a big margin, and Stevie Crawford’s side should be pleased with the way they push the game to extra time.
In the end, though, the Hoops showed their class, as Neil Lennon’s side remain in contention of yet another domestic treble this season.
Celtic will not be too pleased with their performance, but at the end of the day, they got the job done.
