Back in April 2018, The Peterborough Telegraph reported of Celtic’s interest in Marcus Maddison, but the Peterborough United star has now revealed that he is a fan of Ibrox club Rangers.
Rangers, now managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, and Celtic are bitter Old Firm rivals and are the two biggest clubs in Scotland.
Maddison, who is a very versatile footballer and can operate as a winger, attacking midfielder or left-back, has claimed on Instagram that he is a Rangers man when asked to pick between the Gers and Celtic, as reported on HITC Sport (click here to read more).
From the 25-year-old’s declaration, it seems that he may not moved to Celtic in the summer transfer window if Brendan Rodgers’s side made an approach.
Perhaps Rangers will approach Maddison soon. After all, the 25-year-old is one of the best players in League One in England, and Gers manager Steven Gerrard could have need for a player of his quality and versatile in the January transfer window.
