Rangers have failed with a bid to bring winger Jordan Jones to Ibrox.

Ayr United boss and former Rangers midfielder Ian McCall has told BBC Sport that he thinks Rangers’ failed £350,000 for Kilmarnock winger Jordan Jones was actually too much in the first place.
Jones, 22, started out his career with Middlesbrough, coming up through the ranks at the Riverside Stadium but making just one first-team appearance for the club.
After loan spells with Hartlepool United and Cambridge United, Jones left Middlesbrough on a permanent basis to join Kilmarnock, and his stock has been rising ever since.

With six goals in 67 games for Kilmarnock, Jones has started to show promise in Scotland, and he has even picked up his first cap for Northern Ireland at international level.
Jones is now attracting interest in the transfer market, and as reported by BBC Sport, Rangers offered £350,000 to sign the winger earlier this week, but failed with that bid.
The Daily Record report that Kilmarnock feel the offer was nowhere near the player’s value, and they actually feel he is worth around £1million – almost three times Rangers’ offer.

However, not everybody agrees with that valuation, and Ayr United boss and former Rangers midfielder Ian McCall has told BBC Sport that he he thinks Rangers’ bid was actually too high to begin with.
McCall feels that Jones is worth around £150,000, as he has no end product and didn’t impress against Ayr, feeling that £350,000 is already a high price to pay for a player in Scottish football.
“I think they were well off the mark – I’d pay £150,000 for him,” said McCall. “He can run, he’s got pace. I’ve seen him in one game against us. He was their main threat, but he didn’t really do anything – there was no end product. He’s got pace, he plays out wide. But, for me, paying £350,000 is a lot in Scottish football,” he added.
