Lyon could face Rangers in the Europa League next week without international trio Bruno Guimaraes, Lucas Paqueta, Tino Kadwere after their involvement for their national teams in Red List countries.

Brazilian pair Paqueta and Guimaraes and Zimbabwean Kadwere have all been in their home countries – which are on the travel Red List – which means they must quarantine before entering Scotland to face Rangers.
According to Radio Scoop, the French side have already been in contact with the Scottish Government at Holyrood who confirmed that the players would be subject to a 10-day hotel quarantine.
The French report further claims that Lyon have now turned to UEFA in a bid to get the players cleared to play in time for the opening game of the Europa League group stage.
Lyon’s decision to allow their players to travel to Brazil and Zimbabwe seems foolish given the number of Premier League clubs in England who withdrew their players if it would result in them having to quarantine.
The news of the trio’s absence will come as a big boost for Rangers as the Light Blues look to get their group stage campaign off to a strong start.
After making it through to the last 16 for the last few years, making it out of the groups will be the target for Rangers again.

A strong result at home against the French side in the opening game will definitely put Rangers in a decent position ahead of facing Sparta Prague at the end of the month.
Rangers will be without Ianis Hagi for the Lyon clash after he tested positive for Covid while on international duty with Romania.
