Glasgow Rangers have two players up for the PFA Player of the Year award but the Ibrox goalkeeper is not amongst them.

Glasgow Rangers legend Derek Johnstone has admitted that he is surprised to see Ibrox goalkeeper Allan McGregor miss out on a place in the shortlist for PFA Scotland Player of the Year.
Over the course of the season, the 37-year-old has played 51 games in all competitions for Steven Gerrard’s side since joining last summer, conceding 38 goals and securing 23 clean sheets according to Transfermarkt.
McGregor – in his second spell at Rangers, the first of which yielded three titles – has been an instrumental figure for Gerrard’s charges this season, his displays and saves crucial in saving many points for the Ibrox side.
Many people were surprised when Celtic midfielder Callum McGregor – himself in the running for the award and who was not allowed to vote for one of his Hoops teammates – decided to vote for his Rangers namesake (Daily Record).
The four players in the running are McGregor and James Forrest from Parkhead and Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent – who has also been listed for the young player award – from Ibrox.

Speaking to BBC Radio Scotland earlier this week, Kenny Miller thought that Kent should be the young player and Rangers’ “best signing” McGregor should be on that four-man shortlist instead.
Johnstone has also spoken out in support of the Gers keeper, writing in the Glasgow Evening Times: “I am a wee bit surprised that Allan is not amongst the nominations to be honest… he has been so consistent and played at such a high level this term so he can feel aggrieved at not being nominated.”
The winner will be announced at an awards evening in Glasgow on Sunday 5 May.
