Rangers defender Myles Beerman has taken to Twitter to express his excitement after it was confirmed on Thursday that he has left Ibrox to join Queen of the South on loan for the rest of the season.

Beerman started to earn a first-team chance with the Gers last season having only arrived the previous year following a spell with Manchester City. This season however, has been a much more frustrating time for the Malta international.

The 18-year-old has been injured for much of the campaign and is yet to play in the first-team this term, and his path into Graeme Murty’s side is blocked with both Lee Wallace and Declan John both naturally left-backs, while Lee Hodson has also played there during his time at Ibrox.

With John recently joining the Light Blues permanently after a successful loan spell, fans would have been forgiven for worrying what the future may hold for the teenager.

But he will have a chance to make an impact in first-team football this season as it has now been confirmed that he has left the club temporarily to join the Scottish Championship side on loan for the rest of the campaign. And after the news was announced, he took to social media to comment on the move.

And after the announcement and Beerman’s subsequent tweet, a number of fans responded. Along with wishing the full-back luck, many expressed their hope that he would be able to make an impact and push for a first-team chance with Rangers upon his return.

Here is what the Gers fans had to say in response to Beerman’s tweet…
