Glasgow Rangers defender Lee Wallace is ready to compete with Celtic youngster Kieran Tierney and Hull City man Andrew Robertson for the Scotland left-back spot.
Rangers defender Lee Wallace has told The Sunday Post he is going to push both Kieran Tierney and Andrew Robertson for the Scotland left-back position.
Wallace was included in the Scotland starting lineup for the match against England at the Wembley Stadium in London last Friday.
The 29-year-old Rangers left-back started the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification UEFA Group F game and played for the entire 90 minutes.
Scotland lost the match 3-0, thanks to goals from Daniel Sturridge, Adam Lallana and Gary Cahill.
Celtic left-back Tierney and Hull City left-back Robertson did not feature due to injuries.
Wallace played well for Scotland, and the Rangers star has made it clear that he plans to keep his place.
The 29-year-old has sent a strong message to Tierney and Robertson, suggesting that they will have to fight hard in order to dislodge him from his position, but he has also predicted the duo to go on to bigger and better things.

“We were weaker as a squad without Andrew Robertson and Kieran Tierney,” Wallace told The Sunday Post.
“Even before the squad was announced, I said these guys are going to be the future in the left-back position for our country.
“I’ll be hungry to push them all the way if I’m picked in the future. But we all know their quality and that they’re going to go on to bigger and better things. These guys are top, top players.”
Wallace is a very good left-back, but as Rangers star suggests, when Tierney and Robertson are fit, they will be ahead of him in the pecking order.
Tierney is only 19 years of age and has already established himself as a key player for Scottish Premiership giants Celtic.
Robertson is 22 years of age and is playing in the Premier League with Hull City at the moment.
