Rangers defender James Tavernier is pleased to be working with Leeds United great Gary McAllister at Ibrox.

Rangers defender James Tavernier is a Leeds United fan, as he himself told The Scottish Sun in December 2017, and the former Newcastle United right-back is pleased to be working with an Elland Road legend in Gary McAllister, as quoted by the Gers’ official website.
Former Liverpool midfielder McAllister has been appointed as the Rangers assistant manager and will work with Steven Gerrard.

The 53-year-old former Scotland international was on the books of Leeds from 1990 until 1996 and also managed the English club in 2008.
Rangers defender Tavernier has shared his joy at getting the chance to work with McAllister, who won the Football League First Division with Leeds in 1992, and has suggested that having him at Ibrox is going to help him.

The 26-year-old right-back told Rangers’s official website: “Having Gary McAllister here as well is a big thing to me because of Leeds United. He is basically a Yorkshireman now so it is great to have him and his character around.”

Quality footballer
Tavernier is a very good footballer and is one of the best right-backs in the Scottish Premiership.
The former Newcastle right-back will be a key player for Rangers next season, as the Ibrox club will be aiming to challenge bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership.
