Glasgow Rangers defender Declan John will reportedly miss the Ibrox club’s game against Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic at Celtic Park, with Gers teammate Andy Halliday claimed to be replacing him.

It has been reported that John broke a hand in training and will sit out of the Scottish Premiership game between Celtic and Rangers at Celtic Park this afternoon.
The 22-year-old, who can operate as a left-back or as a left-wing-back, suffered the injury on Friday, according to the report.

The Scottish Sun has also claimed that midfielder Andy Halliday is set to replace John at left-back for Graeme Murty’s side against Celtic.
Blow for Rangers
John is one of the best players in the current Rangers team, and his injury is a blow for the Gers ahead of the Old Firm derby against Celtic.

Halliday is a midfielder by trade, and although the 26-year-old former Middlesbrough man can fill in at left-back, it is not an ideal situation for the Gers.
Celtic are favourites to win the Scottish Premiership game, and if they do pick up all three points from the encounter, then they will clinch the league title this season.
