Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers failed to win against Partick Thistle in the Scottish Premiership last week, with Cardiff City-owned Declan John making his debut for the Gers.
John joined Scottish Premiership club Rangers from Cardiff City in the Championship in England in the summer transfer window.
The Wales international left-back moved to the Gers on a season-long loan deal from the Bluebirds.
The 22-year-old, who can also operate as a winger, made his debut for Pedro Caixinha’s side last Friday evening.
The youngster featured in Rangers’ 2-2 draw with Partick Thistle away from home at the Firhill Stadium in the Scottish Premiership.
John came on as a substitute for Lee Wallace in the 12th minute and played for the rest of the game.
The youngster has shared his opinion on his performance for Rangers against Partick.
The Cardiff-owned left-back has also admitted that he needs to improve on his defending.
“It was good to make my debut, I didn’t expect Lee to go down injured and then having to play 80 minutes when I haven’t played a game in around two or three weeks was quite tough but I enjoyed it,” John told Rangers’ official website.
“At the end of the day with the football we play I think it suits me down to the ground,” added John. “On the first day I came up here I always said the football was fast and it is tough as well which I like.
“I am quite attacking, I need to work on my defending but going forward I do have that in my locker and I will put the ball in the box for boys to score some goals as well.”
Rangers are third in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 11 points from six matches, five points behind leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic.
