Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers have brought Gers duo Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic to Ibrox this summer.

Goldson joined Rangers from Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Daily Record to be worth £3 million.
The 25-year-old centre-back has arrived at Ibrox with a strong reputation and will be aiming to establish himself in Steven Gerrard’s first team.

Katic has also moved to Rangers in the summer transfer window, with the Gers paying Slaven Belupo a transfer fee of £2 million in order to secure the services of the 21-year-old Croatia international central defender, as reported by Sky Sports.

Goldson seems to rate Katic highly, and has told Rangers’ official website: “Niko (Katic) has looked good, looked strong and is very aggressive. He is mobile which is good, the way we want to play requires that and he is good on the ball so we can play.
“First and foremost it is about defending the goal and keeping clean sheets, he likes to defend and hopefully if it is us two who are chosen then we can perform well together.”

New partnership against Bury
Rangers will face Bury in a pre-season friendly match on Friday, and Goldson and Katic could form the central defensive partnership for the Gers.
Both centre-backs are very young and talented, and it will be interesting to see how the two players fare next season.
Gerrard’s Rangers will hope to perform well and win the friendly match against Bury on Friday.
