Pedro Caixinha’s Glasgow Rangers signed Bruno Alves in the summer transfer window.
Bruno Alves joined Rangers earlier this summer. The Portugal international central defender moved to the Gers on a free transfer following his departure from Italian club Cagliari at the end of the 2016-17 campaign.
As announced on Rangers’ official website, the 35-year-old centre-back has put pen to paper on a two-year contract with the Scottish Premiership giants.
The former FC Porto and Zenit Saint Petersburg star has only just joined the Gers’ pre-season training, having been on holiday following his participation in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.
Alves has arrived at Ibrox with a strong reputation, having been one of the best centre-backs in the world in his prime.
The defender has won league titles with Porto, Zenit and Fenerbahce, and the European Championship with Portugal in France in 2016.
At 35, the defender is probably entering the final years of his career, but the former Fenerbahce man has suggested that he could carry on playing for more than the two years he is contracted to Pedro Caixinha’s Rangers.
