Rangers defender Borna Barisic will not play for Steven Gerrard’s side against Aberdeen this weekend, according to The Scottish Sun.

Barisic – who joined Rangers from NK Osijek in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £2.2 million – is on the sidelines at the moment with a muscle injury, as reported by The Scottish Sun.

The 25-year-old Croatia international will not feature for Rangers in their Scottish League Cup semi-final tie against Aberdeen on Sunday, as he will not recover in time, claims the report.

Blow for Rangers

Barisic is a very good defender who has done well for Rangers so far this season, and it is a blow for the Gers that the 25-year-old will reportedly not feature for the Gers this weekend.

Rangers, though, will still be confident of winning against Aberdeen and progressing to the final of the Scottish League Cup.

The Gers, though, will not find it easy, as Aberdeen are a good team and will have lofty ambitions of their own.
