The Rangers hitman is reportedly attracting attention from Ligue 1.

Alfredo Morelos of Rangers gets taken down by Peter Hartley of Motherwell during the Betfred Cup Semi Final at Hampden Park on October 22, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been in superb form for Steven Gerrard’s side this season, and he is arguably their most important player.

The Colombian has racked up an impressive 20 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions, and if the Gers are to go on and achieve success this season, he will have to be on his very best form between now and May.

With this in mind, the Daily Record’s report linking Nice with an £8 million bid for the hitman will come as a real concern to Rangers fans.

Steven Gerrard must stand firm, however, and knock back the French club’s reported advances.

£8 million is nowhere near enough money for someone with Morelos’s quality, and Rangers should not consider even entertaining any offers less than £20 million.

It could be argued that the 22-year-old is actually indispensable, and who would Rangers bring in if they sold him?

Should any club come in with around £20 million for Morelos, however, Rangers would surely then have to consider sanctioning the striker’s exit from Ibrox.

That would be a serious amount of cash for the Scottish Premiership club, and if the Gers reinvested the money in their playing squad, it could turn out to be a sensible business decision.

Whether there will be anyone willing to pay that amount for Morelos, however, remains to be seen, but if Rangers take that stance, they really cannot lose either way.
