Glasgow Rangers will have to decide whether to drop fan favourite Alfredo Morelos after a run of poor form.
Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos went into the Old Firm game in September in explosive form, but has struggled badly since.
He had scored six goals in six games to start the Scottish Premiership season, but a derby dud against Celtic appears to have rocked his confidence.
Morelos has not scored for the Gers in the league since September 15, drawing another blank at the weekend at Ibrox in the loss to Hamilton.
He has gone nine games in a row without a goal, and hit the bar twice at the weekend, suggesting very simply that his luck is not in.
Now what was an unthinkable option for Rangers a couple of months ago has become a legitimate question… should Alfredo Morelos be dropped?
There are two strands to answering this. One point is that Morelos has been unlucky, and should be allowed to try and play through his goal drought – after all he can’t end it if he isn’t on the pitch.
He has two assists during his barren spell in front of goal, and creates a constant headache for defenders, wary of his presence.
The other element here is, who do Rangers replace him with?
Kenny Miller is already in the starting line-up, while Eduardo Herrera has done very little to convince during his stint at Ibrox so far.
Youngster Ryan Hardie could be an option, he has been in good form for the academy and replaced Morelos with 20 minutes remaining at the weekend.
It will come down to whether Graeme Murty feels Morelos needs a breather, which could do him good, but there is a conversation which needs to be had among the coaching staff about the talented but out of form striker.
