Rangers striker Umar Sadiq has struggled since his move to Ibrox.

Rangers chairman Dave King has told Rangers TV that he feels 14 of the 15 signings under Steven Gerrard have been a success, seemingly noting Umar Sadiq as the only flop.
The Gers brought in Gerrard as their new boss back in May, and backed the Liverpool legend heavily as they looked to bounce back from a disappointing season under Pedro Caixinha and then Graeme Murty.
Gerrard brought in a total of 15 signings to boost his squad, from veteran performers such as Allan McGregor, Gareth McAuley, Scott Arfield and Kyle Lafferty, foreign talents like Nikola Katic, Lassana Coulibaly, Borna Barisic and Eros Grezda and Liverpool talents Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent.
So far, it’s been going pretty well for Rangers; Gerrard has lost just four times in 28 games, and most of his signings have shown their quality in a Gers shirt this season.
However, only one player so far has been a major flop, as striker Sadiq has struggled to make any sort of impact since making a summer loan move from Roma.
The Nigerian forward, 21, arrived as something of a punt, and has been something of a disaster for Rangers, making just one start – and that was a dismal showing in the Betfred Cup semi-final defeat to Aberdeen.

As if it wasn’t bad enough that Rangers fans have been criticising Sadiq, chairman King has now admitted that one player hasn’t been a success, and it’s a fairly thinly-veiled dig at Sadiq for all to see, but he was attempting to praise Gerrard and co for their recruitment – another sign that Sadiq won’t get anywhere near a permanent deal at Ibrox.
“I would say he is ahead of the game in the sense having made the investment in the players we were bringing in,” said King. “He brought in 15 players if I remember correctly and I think it’s probably fair to say only one of the 15 hasn’t worked out. So that’s a great return in terms of the identification in the quality of players,” he added.
