Darren Bent says he wants to sign for Rangers

Darren Bent said this week he wants to sign with Rangers and link up with former England teammate Steven Gerrard.
Speaking to Talksport, Bent said he would be ‘100 per cent’ up for a move to Ibrox.
He is currently a free agent after leaving Derby County.
Rangers have three strikers at present, Kyle Lafferty, Alfredo Morelos and Umar Sadiq.
Bent would be competing with Sadiq for the third striker spot if he signed for Rangers.
The biggest factor in his favour is Rangers assistant boss Gary McAllister.
McAllister raved about Darren Bent after working with him at Aston Villa.

He told The Birmingham Mail: “What’s someone who trusts in his own ability. He knows if he keeps working and making the movements he will get another chance. It’s a big skill.”
McAllister later added that he felt the fee Villa paid for Bent to sign him from Sunderland was a bargain.
He told The Independent: “Is Darren Bent a bargain at £18 million? Maybe five or six years ago you would have called us all crazy if we were banding these numbers about.
“But that is the going rate and market forces dictate the price.
“He is proven in the Premier League, he has been in and around it a long time and he is a natural goalscorer.”

He later told The Mirror: “It’s a signing that’s saved the club. We were heading into an area where we’d not have liked to be.”
Clearly McAllister is a big fan, and knows how to get Bent to tick.
Bent is motivated to salvage his career and sign with the Gers.
Having once felt he was a bargain at £18 million, surely McAllister would ask that Rangers run the rule over signing him on a free after hearing his comments?
