Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic take on Glasgow Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.

Jamie Murphy, Josh Windass, Jason Cummings and Alfredo Morelos have spearheaded Rangers’ resurgence in recent weeks and an Ibrox win on Sunday would see the Gers move three points behind top-of-the-table Celtic.

It’s arguably the biggest and most exciting Old Firm derby since Rangers’ fall from grace back in 2012 and manager Graeme Murty has a host of match-winners available when the Hoops come to town.

Daniel Candeias is no match winner, but a dazzling performance against Brendan Rodgers’s side could represent a stunning turnaround for a man who struggled to impress in his first four or five months in Glasgow.

Candeias, an £800,000 signing under Pedro Caixinha, comes up against one of the most promising left-backs in Europe this weekend, and tormenting Celtic’s Kieran Tierney would illustrate his evolution at Ibrox.

The Portuguese winger hasn’t received the same plaudits as his attack-minded team-mates in recent weeks, but he has been excellent nonetheless and giving Tierney the run-around on Sunday would prove to Rangers fans that he is quite a decent player.

Fans of the Ibrox side weren’t convinced by Candeias earlier in the season, but he looks a much better player under Murty than he did during Caixinha’s reign, and eight assists and three goals in the Premiership suggests that it hasn’t been a bad first season in Glasgow by any means.

But an excellent showing against the Celtic prodigy could set up the 30-year-old to have a superb end to the campaign.
