Glasgow Rangers are keen on bringing Ethan Hamilton to Ibrox, a youngster with bags of potential.
Glasgow Rangers have their eye on Manchester United talent Ethan Hamilton.
The Sun (19/11 page 65) reported that Rangers are eyeing a double loan move for Hamilton and Scott McTominay.
Rangers’ chances of landing Hamilton are more favourable, and he is a player Gers fans should be excited about bringing to Ibrox.
The teenager is a player compared by his Scotland under-19 coach Ricky Sbragia to former United midfielder Darren Fletcher.
He told the Scottish Sun earlier this year: “He’s a lovely lad and the people at Manchester United say he’s a great professional. He’s definitely got a chance at United.
“He’s (Fletcher) a great example and I think he spoke to Ethan when he first went down. If you ever want to model yourself on someone as a pro, it would be Darren.”
Fletcher and Hamilton came through the ranks at the same boys club, Hutchinson Vale, and the United youngster says he is inspired by his predecessor.
He told United’s website: “I do look up to Fletch a lot, just the way he holds himself on and off the field. I think he’s a good role model to have and to act like an inspiration to try to follow the path he went through.”
Fletcher has gone on to make almost 80 senior appearances for his country and it would have been more if it were not for illness.
If Hamilton can go on to have the same sort of career, Rangers will do well to get him through the door at Ibrox and put themselves in position for a potential permanent move.
