Rangers have handed out plenty of new contracts to their young stars this season.
Rangers have confirmed on their academy’s Twitter page that 17-year-old goalkeeper Nicky Hogarth has put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension at Ibrox.
The young stopper will now remain with the Scottish giants until the summer of 2020, as he looks to break his way into Billy Kirkwood’s reserve side and even better, go on and make the first team.
The news comes right in the thick of what has been a bad week at Rangers, following the 4-0 loss to bitter rivals Celtic and suspension of captain Lee Wallace and veteran Kenny Miller after a heated exchange in the dressing room.
The Gers’ academy page posted on Twitter to confirm the new deal for highly-rated Hogarth, who is just another teen to sign a new deal at Ibrox this season under manager Graeme Murty.
The likes of Kieran Wright, Ciaran Dickson, Aidan Wilson, Jamie Barjonas and Ross McCrorie have all signed new deals since Murty was made manager, previously being in charge of the development squad.
The Gers boast a whole host of goalkeepers across all levels at the club, with Wes Foderingham, Jak Alnwick and Liam Kelly the top three stoppers, while Robby McCrorie, Aidan McAdams, Brian Kinnear, Lewis Muir and Wright are also on the books.
