Glasgow Rangers announced this week that Ryan Hardie has left Ibrox on a permanent basis.
Michael Beale has taken to Twitter to send a message to Ryan Hardie after the forward sealed a permanent move away from Rangers this summer, with the coach suggesting that he now has a great opportunity.
Hardie’s future has seemingly been up in the air for much of the summer. The striker had failed to force his way into Steven Gerrard’s plans at Ibrox, but his form out on loan had left some Gers fans backing the 22-year-old for a future chance with the club.
Hardie scored seven goals in 21 Scottish Premiership appearances with Livingston last season. It was the kind of record that tempted some to suggest that he may be a good understudy for the likes of Jermain Defoe and Alfredo Morelos.
However, Gerrard has clearly had other ideas, with Rangers confirming on their official website that Hardie has joined Blackpool in a permanent move for an undisclosed fee.
And Beale has suggested on social media that the decision to head to Bloomfield Road could be a brilliant one for the youngster…
It is a shame that Hardie has not been given another chance to prove himself for Rangers’ first-team. But it is also difficult to criticise Gerrard’s decision to let him leave this summer.
He had struggled with injuries in recent times, and was faced with an extremely tough challenge to get many minutes in the Gers first-team during the coming campaign. It appears, unfortunately, that a move is likely to prove the best decision for all parties.
