Gilmour has signed a new deal with Chelsea, after joining the club from Rangers in July 2017.

Chelsea youngster and former Rangers starlet Billy Gilmour has signed a new contract with the west London club after an excellent 2017-18 campaign that saw him shine in the Blues’ Under-18 side – and two former midfielders reacted on Twitter.
The 17-year-old has put pen to paper on his first professional deal with Chelsea, which will see him remain at Stamford Bridge until the summer of 2021.

Gilmour helped his side win the Under-18 Premier League and he posted on Twitter after putting pen to paper, underlining his delight after a season that even saw him break into Scotland’s Under-21 side.
Gilmour has shown that his controversial move down south to London was the right one, making 27 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea’s Under-18 side last term and scoring eight goals from the middle of the park.
He rounded off an excellent campaign by taking part in the Toulon Tournament with Scotland, helping the Under-21’s reach the semi-final by featuring in four of their five matches – and even scoring against South Korea in a 2-1 win.
Rangers coach Kevin Thomson, who currently works with the Gers as a youth coach with the Under-13 side and Jordan Thompson reacted on Twitter – despite the latter joining Blackpool this summer.
