Rangers are waiting to discover if they will be one of the seeded sides in the Champions League Third Qualifying Round draw as they make their return to Europe’s premier competition for the first time in a decade – and the Light Blues will be closely watching the outcome of the Danish title race.

The Gers could yet end up seeded depending on who is crowned champion in Denmark with three teams still in the title race going into the final games.

Midtjylland are top of the table as things stand and have one game left to play but Brondy and Copenhagen could still overtake them and snatch the title.

Should Brondby end up champions, Rangers would still be seeded but if Copenhagen can pull off a surprise title triumph, Steven Gerrard’s side would lose their seeding and, potentially, face a much harder task to qualify.

Midtjylland have 57 points with Brondy and Copenhagen both sitting two points behind – although Brondby have one more game to play than their two title rivals.

Dinamo Zagreb, Slavia Prague, Olympiakos, Young Boys and Red Star Belgrade will all seeded for the draw, should they come through their earlier qualifying rounds, so Rangers being seeded would be a big boost for Gerrard’s side.
