Glasgow Rangers did not sell Ibrox striker Alfredo Morelos in the January transfer window, and Gers chairman Dave King says that it was Graeme Murty’s decision.

According to The Scottish Sun, Chinese club Beijing Renhe made a bid of £11 million for Morelos in January.
Rangers did not accept the offer and the 21-year-old striker remained at Ibrox, and club chairman King has revealed that it was Murty – who is no longer in charge of the first team – who decided against selling the Colombian in the January transfer window.
King told The Scottish Sun: “The manager made a decision not to sell him, it was completely up to him. He knew we could have sold the player, but if Morelos went out Murty couldn’t bring another player in.
“He said: ‘I would rather have the player, if you’re not putting me under pressure to get the money I would rather keep Morelos’. We said: ‘There’s no pressure, you make a football decision’.”

Wrong decision?
When the offer for Morelos came in January, the 21-year-old Colombian striker was in great form, and a bid of £11m was huge for the youngster.
The former Colombia Under-20 international, though, has since failed to play to the best of his abilities since then and has not scored as many goals as he would liked to and also missed some good chances against Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Signed from HJK Helsinki in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £1.5 million, Morleos has scored 14 goals and provided six assists in 31 Scottish Premiership appearances for Rangers this season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
However, given his form since January, it would be a surprise if any club are willing to pay £11m for the 21-year-old in the summer transfer window.
