Rangers are interested in Cedric Kipre with Championship side West Bromwich Albion ready to offload the central defender this summer.

Rangers fans may not be thinking about transfers right now given that they’re just hours away from the Europa League final.

Eintracht Frankfurt stand in the way of glory for Rangers tonight with Giovanni van Bronckhorst chasing a first trophy as Rangers boss.

Whether Rangers win or not, their run to the final will make them very appealing to potential signings.

One name now being linked with a move to Rangers is Cedric Kipre, with the defender highly regarded at Ibrox.

Rangers are interested in Cedric Kipre

Rangers have been following Kipre ever since his days at Motherwell according to a new report from the Birmingham Mail.

Kipre excelled in Scottish football and headed to Wigan Athletic before then joining West Brom in 2020.

West Brom are now willing to sell Kipre this summer with the defender seeking a move away.

Kipre is unhappy with his lack of playing time and West Brom are happy for him to leave this summer.

Rangers are allegedly keen with Norwich City also interested.

Rangers have John Souttar arriving this summer to bolster their centre back options but with Connor Goldson on the way out, Kipre may still be needed.

Kipre, 25, is a huge presence at 6ft 4in tall and his history of impressing in Scotland may just tempt Rangers into a deal.

If Rangers do move to sign Kipre, they may need to convince Ryan Jack about the pursuit.

Jack publicly slated Kipre back in 2018. The defender put in a strong tackle on Jack during a Rangers v Motherwell game at Ibrox.

Jack spent seven months out with injury and then slated Kipre for a ‘shocking tackle’, claiming the defender intended to hurt him.

Four years on, Jack may end up playing alongside Kipre at Ibrox in a strange twist of fate should Ross Wilson and Van Bronckhorst make their move.
