Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers, currently managed by Graeme Murty, played against Neil Lennon’s Hibernian last Wednesday.

Rangers interim manager Graeme Murty is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and St Johnstone at Ibrox Stadium on December 16, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers caretaker-manager Graeme Murty has revealed to The Daily Record the advice he has received from former Celtic boss Neil Lennon, who is in charge of Hibernian at the moment.

Murty has been in charge of the Rangers first team since October 2017 following the departure of Pedro Caixinha.

It is yet to be determined if the former Scotland international defender will remain the Gers’ boss until the end of the season, but the 43-year-old will be in charge of the Ibrox outfit until the end of the month at least.

Murty, joined Rangers in August 2016 in the role of the Head Development Squad Coach, has revealed the recent advice he was given by Hibernian manager Neil Lennon.

Lennon took charge of Celtic on a temporary basis in 2010 following the departure of Tony Mowbray.

The former Northern Ireland international midfielder was subsequently given the Celtic managerial role on a permanent basis.

The 46-year-old is a legend at Celtic Park, having won the league title five times as a player and thrice as a manager of the Hoops.

Murty has revealed the advice that Lennon gave to him last Wednesday when Hibs and Rangers faced each other at Easter Road in the Scottish Premiership.

“I’m not sure their are many people who have been on the type of journey that I have been on,” Murty told The Daily Record.

“I talked to one on Wednesday in the shape of Neil Lennon. He talked about his journey of being a caretaker at a massive club.

“He spoke of the lessons he learned there. And the things he talked about are the things that I am going through now.”

Murty added: “Neil did give me advice – but what he said will remain between myself and him. He was open and candid. We had a really good chat and the main thrust of the advice was to enjoy the wins.

“Coming from someone who must have been hurting quite a bit after we’d beaten Hibs it very big of him and I really appreciated it.”
