Glasgow Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has once again been linked with a move away from Ibrox this summer.

Morelos is no stranger to being linked with a move away from Ibrox since his arrival one year ago, so it will probably not surprise Steven Gerrard that the Gers could seemingly face a battle to keep the Colombian.
And after Sunday’s result with Aberdeen, there may well be some Gers supporters who feel that cashing in on Morelos seems to make some sense. Even though most seemed to disagree with the red card he received at Pittodrie – especially as the officials managed to miss Scott McKenna’s attempts to rile Morelos before he kicked out – there is likely to be some frustration at the fact that the youngster did retaliate.
Nevertheless, with Rangers’ squad as it currently is, there is absolutely no way that the Gers should even contemplate selling Morelos if one of the French sides come calling.

Umar Sadiq is still awaiting his competitive debut for the Light Blues and beyond him, there are no other strikers in the senior squad. If Sadiq was a much more proven talent, then perhaps selling Morelos would make some sense if the offer was eye-watering and replacements had been lined up.
Rangers have done a lot of business this summer, but the results of some of their reported pursuits highlight how difficult it can still be to get players in, and thus, selling Morelos at this stage would be a major gamble.

Morelos has his flaws, but he showed with his displays in the games immediately before the Aberdeen clash that he has so much potential, particularly away against Osijek when he scored the only goal after facing a barrage of criticism.
It remains to be seen if Rangers have any interest in selling Morelos should any bids come in. But if they do want to consider any offers, it is surely fair to say that the Gers have to have something special up their sleeve in the remaining weeks of the window as losing Morelos now would be a huge roll of the dice.
