Calvin Bassey has reunited with Giovanni van Bronckhorst at Ibrox as Rangers prepare to host Ajax in the Champions League.
Rangers have endured a complete nightmare in the Champions League this season.
The Gers have conceded a staggering 19 goals in five group stage games whilst scoring just once.
Rangers need a win and a ridiculous goal swing against Ajax to head into the Europa League, which doesn’t seem likely.

Calvin Bassey has reunited with Giovanni van Bronckhorst
Tonight’s game with Ajax brings the curtain down on this miserable Champions League campaign, but also sees Calvin Bassey return to Ibrox.
Bassey joined Rangers from Leicester City back in 2020 having failed to break through at first-team level with the Foxes.
Primarily signed as a left back to compete with Borna Barisic, Bassey ended up becoming an outstanding centre back.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst utilised Bassey as his left-sided centre back having replaced Steven Gerrard and the move was a masterstroke.
Bassey was colossal for Rangers during their run to the Europa League final and really impressed against Eintracht Frankfurt in the showpiece event.
Rangers knew interest in Bassey was inevitable and they ended up striking a deal to sell the Nigerian to Ajax.
The Amsterdam giants were seeking a replacement for Lisandro Martinez following his move to Manchester United and ended up forking out close to £23million for Bassey.
Results have been mixed for the 22-year-old so far but four assists and a goal in 15 games isn’t a bad attacking return.
Bassey may well start against Rangers tonight and he bumped into his former boss Van Bronckhorst at Ibrox on Monday.
VTBL in the Netherlands showed footage of the pair reuniting, hugging before Van Bronckhorst joked about making sure Bassey goes into the right dressing room tonight.
“Don’t come in our locker room, make a left!” said Van Bronckhorst.
“Yeah I’ll try not to forget, I’ll try not to forget!” replied Bassey.
Bassey will credit Van Bronckhorst for a large part of his ascent and whilst Rangers will hope the defender has a miserable night, it’s clear there is big respect there too.
