Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League success sparked reactions around the world on Wednesday night – but also an argument involving a Rangers-bound player.

Spurs and Manchester City played out a frankly unbelievable Champions League clash, with a 4-3 thriller played out at the Etihad Stadium, making the score 4-4 on aggregate.

City won on the night, but Tottenham’s away goals sent them through in dramatic fashion, as a late Raheem Sterling goal appeared to be sending City through – only for the goal to be ruled out through VAR.

Kevin De Bruyne was arguably the best player on the pitch despite City’s exit, but he was close run by Tottenham forward Son Heung-min, who scored two quickfire goals in the first half.

Son also bagged Tottenham’s goal last week, meaning he bagged three goals over the course of the tie, continuing his stunning season whilst taking his tally in all competitions to 20.

Rangers-bound winger Jordan Jones took to Twitter to suggest that South Korean international Son is the greatest Asian player of all time, ruling out ex-Manchester United ace Park Ji-sung.

Scottish wide man Jai Quitongo, formerly of Morton and Partick Thistle but now with Machine Sazi in Iran, responded by suggesting ex-Celtic man Shunsuke Nakamura is actually the best Asian player of all time rather than Son.

Jones hit back telling Quitongo to ‘grow up’ and stop seeking out likes from Celtic fans, leading Quitongo to tell Jones to enjoy watching Celtic win 10 titles in a row, leaving Bhoys fans howling at the Twitter spat – even if was probably tongue-in-cheek for the most part.
